So, I guess your’re wondering what i’ve been up too? Well my friend ask me to make her an two slit skirt, I was like okay! since I’ve made a full maxi skirt with an touch of mvii, the thought didn’t seem to cross my mind of second guessing. I soon learn that making clothes for people other then yourself can be hard if you’re not mind set for it. I mean i’ve plenty study guides and what to do in this format books, i’ve even watch video next to that created something perfect for myself, So she give me her measurements and i was like cool , I got this. okay i cut the fabric and the sizing and then it came to making the band (dadadann) it took me 4 zippers and two waist bands to make a semi-perfessional look. gosh that was so hard!!!!
But I love the end results and so did she it was fabulous. now working on another fit for her with matching prints.
Hey everyone so in these days, I’ve became a mother! a 10 pound babygirl name Charlene. She is the light of my eyes and even dough I have showed no love to her, she makes me feel whole. Okay so I know how this sounds but really I’m so happy I dont know what to do with her. OH btw it’s the sew your dress (dressform), Yes I name her Charlene. I’m on the verg of learning all sorts of new stuff but keeping up with my thoughts is very hard. when it comes down to money I must take my time. I have some red jersey fabric with a nice weight to it and im thinking maxi. but where would charlene play a role in this…. So I’ve decided to just plan my next outfit and forget about charlene because she’s gonna be there for me (she told me this) and to be happy with my decision cause in the end it all balls down to me.

Today was a hell of a day, I’ve had so many mix emotions about myself and about whats next in my life. Somethings come easy and some just take time so they say, Being a female you have female problems like you know mother nature it’s inviolable it’s painful and it’s like being a child. See you guys told you im very emotional. I’ve been blasting lana del rey cd to get me through, must I say she has a very classic voice and I feel like I should be in my most delightful fabric with amazing jewelry slipping on fine tea with a peek of shoulder, afro pick the greatest length when a fine man walks in the door and says my name “robvi” I want you and if you don’t want me. well I wait till I convince you with taking off my fabulous pumps *(platform pumps) and rubbing my thumbs in the sole of your feet, or with placing warm stones on your back with soft music playing in the background with vows of loving me till the end of his time. OMG i’m so emotional right now lol.
It’s been awhile since I last did a post, keeping up with myself is hard when there’s so many other great sites and blogs to explore. Reasons been it’s hard to live up to the outside world and you just visiting my page makes me smile already so dont brother yourself with comments but if you wanna link up do leave feedback in my feedback box.
Ok, so lately I’ve been doing a lot of sewing and working and sleeping and eating and that routine all over a gain. I’m currently waiting for free money to fly in in hopes of buying a dress form to model my clothes and make on.
I always wanted to be a model, but the stress of taking a picture everytime can be a bit overwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, I love to dress up and get my hair done and nails did with fabulouse make-up and posed but when you doing this alone it’s not so fun. here is a picture of a circle skirt i did using the same fabric as my superwomen dress. It came out really cute and it’ll make a nice addition to my closet .

I Love this Lady, she is so talented and a BIG inspiration in my life.
DIY is something I enjoy doing so when I seen this tutorial on how to make your own pattern pant i knew i wanted to repost for alert! I’ve been studying fabrics and pattern lately and learning to sew with them is a headache, so maybe I’ll give this a try. here’s the tutorial if your interested.
For many reasons women today are becoming natural. And like most I myself have been natural for almost two-years.
This Picture is the first day I got my hair cut and style, and you can see the awkward written on my face. For the most part I was really happy I had cut my hair and finally I was free to see what it really look like. My nose look so BIG and right away my eyebrows needed trimming. (lol)
I was glowing the first stages of my hair cut and even decided to keep my hair twisted for awhile. This look was maintain for about 3 months, until growth kicked in.
My hair was manage with fro-puffs as what I like to called them. My hair grew so fast I was excited I didn’t know what to do with myself. I bought so many hair care product and hair clips I was starting my very own collections of hair pieces.
Thats when the color kicked in. Records showed it was a major mistake to color your hair since being natural is a non-chemical treatment, and hair color has chemicals so it was frown upon. I didn’t care, I was still natural and had the versatile to straighten or where it kinky. Yea being a kinky doll was becoming who I am. A lot of people who already were introduced to the community compliment me, But like all fairy tales there is always a bad part. Many people look at me like what have I done to myself, and I was never the girl to wear make-up so the whole natural with beauty rule never applied to me. I mean I loved to wear make-up but I wear glasses and I live in Texas (heat) and I eyes get very irry, The list could go on and on for me. Okay so being natural was not being beautiful it was dealing with the real issues.
Breakage was an major part when I color my hair, but it wasn’t the problem. My scape was dry and very unmanageable. I would have snow flakes everywhere, and besides that my color would look very dull. What is this? I kept asking myself this, I wash everyday and grease I even went to youtube and request help. Having my hair natural was becoming a nightmare and the looks didn’t make me feel any better. Then I had a major break-thru. I forgot as a little girl my grand-father would grease my hair with olive oil, with that being said I went to the kitchen. I could remember watching GREASE and ol’ girl would iron her hair, I just though of that weird huh? (lol)
My Hair was looking GUUD!! I was so excited to see how the result were coming along and finally my confidence was coming back. I started to trim my ends which meant no more color and I was okay with that. The color was nice but my natural hair color was better, I was feeling like a new day with the treatment of old habits even my skin was looking better.
Btw this make-up only last for 30 mins, another reason not to wear it.
and now almost 2 years of natural hair for me.
Even though I dont care much for the Heart felt of receiving flowers, this Royal Dolce and Gabbana
Skirt makes it hard for a Girl like me to pass up. With Thanksgiving coming up I just may be the table
center piece walking in.
I have Pattern: Donna Karan V1282
Although the spit in the back may add a little sex appeal to the original styling of the skirt, This is the pattern of choice I’ll be working with. The slim fitting A-line will add to the Godly curves. The length I believe will be perfect although patterns seem to change once you finish the garment so I may have to consider that when constructing it. The drape neck line adds a classic look as well obscure the waist line without feeling to bluck. The pattern says to used a two-way stretch fabric I could see why, but I have this lovely forest green silk-polyester that would make a gorgeous top.
I’m not sure what fabric I’ll be making the skirt with but I believe it’ll be floral since it’s my inspiration.
This Pattern that Print will make one hell of a outfit. I’ve wore Jeans so much I forgot how to be a lady,(lol) but thats okay this pattern will get me on track. So with that being said look out Fall here I come.
BTW… Have you guys seen Alicia Keys new video GIRL ON FIRE, the song is sick and the video is a amazing, once again my girl has made a hit of the season to remember.
GIRL ON FIRE
This dress is slim fitted and long for comfort and elegants. what i did was, for this was my first time sewing this pattern. I tried the biggest size next to my figure after all if it’s too big I can always cut the size down right :p, the size i used was 10 but I wear an 8 or maybe a 6 im not sure. This dress looks just like the picture although the fabrics are different on the cover.
Since I up my skills in sewing, reading instructions have become very easy to understand.I’m now at the point where I want to arrange details around and work in different steps. I love this pattern, Though this is my first time trying the pattern out I love the fit and style of the dress. I’m thinking about adding a hood. cause you know I’m hood like that Lol. I used a poly…knit fabric with this artistic design only to mimic the dress on the cover lol wasn’t close to the print. but still like it.
I used a twin needle doing the whole process of making this dress. The twin needle help with the gather, and the top stitching, the pleat that the twin needle gives gave it a finish look when i top stitch it. I plain to make this dress as many times as i could. If my husband doesn’t check the account from all the fabric ill buy. (hopes he doesn’t read this) I recommend this pattern to anyone who interested in making it. It’s really easy and fun to make. besides every women deserves a sexy dress that simple.
My Friend Modeling my dress
Dress sewn by me.
Pattern Description: It’s a high waist shirt, that can be worn in many style with modifications.
Pattern Sizing: This Pattern comes in many size, but since im only making this skirt for my own pleasure i chose the size 8 to 10 range. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Oh yea, It has the shape of the picture, but when you change the fabric it gives a different style to it.
I made this skirt so many time in different fabric and colors and each one i favor.
Were the instructions easy to follow? I’ve done this pattern so many times now that it’s becoming very easy to follow.
each time i make a skirt i change something about it. so every once and a while i go back to read the instructions. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the band in this pattern. it’s a heart shape and gives room for the days when you feel like ugh. Fabric Used: I used a 100% cotton fabric this time. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: so instead of going by the menu i change it up a bit.
the band is done different this time i made cut outs in the back
so i could slip the band through and tie the bow. although this is the first time actually making the band because
i had trouble understanding how it goes, the cutout suits me best.
